Soil nailing is a stabilisation method often applied to unstable embankment areas. SSS have installed soil nails in holes ranging from between 100mm – 250mm in diameter. These are generally placed as a passive acting unit of all lengths and diameters for both permanent and temporary stabilisation.
The soil nail can be pre-grouted for ease of installation and include the addition of rust inhibitors and early high strength additives within the grout. Permanent double corrosion protected (DCP) soil nails include the use of a corrugated PVC sheath over the soil nail used as a secondary corrosion liner.
